Getting to the islands requires at least two modes of transportation and some prior planning...
Driving on the ferry will offer you the most flexibility once you’re on the island, but is not necessary. If you opt to walk on the ferry or fly in, many accommodations will be walkable right in the town of Friday Harbor, and the venue is a short 7 minute drive from town.
Keep in mind there is no Uber/Lyft on the island, but limited taxi and shuttle services are available. Moped and e-bike rentals are also options for exploring more of the island.
Getting there
Sail
If you plan on driving to the island, you will need a ferry reservation. Reservations open in increments, 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days at 7am PST prior to your sailing date. You will need to make a reservation from Anacortes to Friday Harbor on your way to the island, and from Friday Harbor to Anacortes for your return. Your fare will be for a round trip, but you will make your inbound and outbound reservations separately.
Keep in mind that reservations fill up quickly and ferries run several hours apart. Be sure to show up 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time or your reservation will be canceled and you will have to wait in the standby lane.
Alternatively, if you choose not to drive on you can park at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal and walk on. No reservation is required for walk-on passengers, and you can purchase your ticket in the terminal after parking (no need to go through the drive-through toll booth lines).
Fly
Several companies offer regularly scheduled flights from all over the Northwest to Friday Harbor. There is a small airport on the island very near town (and the venue) or float planes will fly you right into the port where you can walk off the dock into town. Kenmore Air, San Juan Airlines, and Friday Harbor Seaplanes are all options depending on your departure point.
Getting around
There is no Uber or Lyft on the island, and taxi/shuttle services are limited so please plan accordingly. A few options are linked here.
There will be a trolley transporting guests to and from the venue on Friday from a few pick up points. More detail on pick-up points and schedule will be posted once RSVP’s are in.
